Thankyou morning tea for Dulux and Bunnings

On Tuesday, 4th December, Group 15 hosted a morning tea to thank the wonderful efforts of prominent people who have supported the renovation of the Junior Playground. Andrew Pyne, the state wide Independent Account Manager for DULUX paints has been involved with the project since early last year and has been particularly generous by donating paint for the under-cover structure and non-slip concrete paint for the paths. He also helped plan colour schemes and organised 2 Working Bees which he personally supervised during weekends. Andrew works closely with Bunnings who also have been very supportive by providing equipment such as brushes and rollers and staff to help with the Working Bees. Bunnings have been involved with several projects for the Special School and we have been very fortunate to have their continued support. The completed Junior Playground is such a great improvement on the environment that students were playing in last year. It is a joy to see the difference. Andrew Pyne accepted Appreciation Certificates for himself and Jody from Bunnings and these were presented by Principal, Geoff Davies.
A few students and staff were present to give Andrew a large hand made thank-you card which included photos of students at play in the colourful new playground. Staff, including Geoff and Marnie enjoyed chatting to Andrew over coffee and cheese cake and voiced their admiration for his kind efforts, considering what a busy person he is with the huge area he covers for work. The working bee from Andrew's team bring to a close the renovation of the Junior playground which has been on-going for nearly two years.  In addition to the valuable contributions from Dulux and Bunnings it has taken the support of the Hervey Bay Special School P & C and staff, senior students work experience programs and a large grant from the gambling fund to get the renovation completed.
