Students-compete-in-Gympie Special-Olympics

Fifteen Hervey Bay Special students travelled down to Gympie to participate in the Special Olympics and Little Athletics Trial Day.  It was a fantastic day and despite the very hot weather everyone had a great time.   They all tried out for shot-put, long jump, running races, walking races and vortex throwing.   A special mention has to go to Murrundah who despite the extreme heat, gave 110%.  He was really amazing, he never gave up and completed all the events. After the events, the students were treated to a sausage sizzle and cold popper.  They were presented with ribbons and a bag that contained lots of great stuff.  We were all glad to get back in the air-conditioned van to head back to school.  Well done everyone!
