Character man opens bike track extension

22/08/2012

Character man, Ian Dente opened the extension to Hervey Bay Special School's  bike track.  Ian Dente has raised nearly $18,000 for the school by entertaining crowds at Hervey Bay's local markets and community events.  With the friendly way he mixed with the students, many of whom he recognized from his shows, it’s not difficult to see why he is so popular when he performs his many characters including King Neptune, Jake the Peg and his living statues.

As Ian opened the new extension to the bike track students burst into applause, Ian then christened the track by taking a go-cart for a quick spin around the track with the students cheering him all the way around.
To thank Ian and his wife Linda for all their fund-raising efforts senior students had prepared a delicious morning tea that was enjoyed by our guests, parents, senior students and staff.

Every student wanted to shake hands with Ian to show their appreciation for all the fund-raising he does for our school.

We would also like to thank every-one in the community who contributes to Ian's fund raising efforts.
